Like many of Duddell's works, the title for Endgame comes from another source, in this case Samual Beckett's play of the same name and the unusal tempi structure (medium, fast, slow) is a reflection of a play on words from the title. Lasting about 10 minutes and commissioned by Quintessence, the work was first performed in Dulwich Picture Gallery on 27 September 2001.
